- Watch for more great utilities to come out soon.
-
- •• General Information ••
- 1. This program must reside at the SAME LEVEL AS "MANSION".
- 2. This program REQUIRES that you have your 'Mansion Scan'
- file set up and in place (in the Mansion Data folder).
- "Library Files Searcher" uses this file for the pathnames.
- 3. You must run this program from within Mansion!
- (it will work either local or remote but not from the Finder)
- 4. You must add a menu cmd to Mansion (really?:) and add the
- "Library Files Searcher" name to your Data Header file.
- (see examples at the end of this text)
- (You can also use your own 'menu'! See below)
- -----------------------
-
- The following strings may need to be edited before using the program.
-
- *String Number 2501 contains the absolute path for the location of
- your 'Mansion Data' folder.
- If your Mansion Data folder is in the 'normal' location
- (within the folder that Mansion resides in), this string
- does not need to be 'absolute'. The default set in this
- program when you receive it is :Mansion Data
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
- If you have your Mansion Data folder located elsewhere,
- you need to change this string to reflect the absolute
- pathway to the Mansion Data folder. As in this example:
- My Harddrive:Mansion Folder:Mansion Data
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-
- *String Number 2500 contains the pathname for your Mansion Scan
- file.
- If your Mansion Scan file is in the 'normal' location,
- the default string in the program will work. It is :
- :Mansion Data:Mansion Scan
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
- If you have your "Mansion Scan" file located someplace
- else or have it named differently, you need to change this
- string to reflect the absolute pathway. As in this example:
- My Harddrive:ScanStuff Folder:My Mansion Scan
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
- (•• Note the placement of the ":"s in the paths!)
-
- Custom Menus: If you want to use your own 'Entry Text/Menu' rather
- than the one shown by this program...
- Make your 'menu' with a text editor.
- **Two things**
- 1. You must name the file Searcher Menu
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
- 2. Place the Searcher Menu file in your MENUS folder (within
- the Mansion Data folder)
-
- If this file is present it will be displayed, if not, the simple
- menu that's built into the program will display.
-
- Your custom menu must still be named Searcher Menu and be located
- in your Mansion Data:Menus folder. (wherever it is, the program
- will look at STR# 2501 to see where to look).
-
-
-
- Configuration: As the program is, it will use your Mansion Scan file
- (located in your Mansion Data folder) for the pathnames.
- Using ResEdit, you will find that String #2500 contains
- :Mansion Data:Mansion Scan
- You may change the 'Mansion Scan' name to another name. This
- would allow you to make a copy your original Mansion Scan file,
- rename it, and edit it so that only the library areas you
- want displayed will be searched.
- With this option, if need be, you should be able to have
- multiple copies of the Library File Searcher program on
- your system with each programs string 2500 edited, and
- allow users of different security levels access these
- programs to only search what you want them to search!
- (via the security level in your menu commands in Mansion)
- The copies of the program still must remain at the
- same level as the Mansion program, just name them differently.
-
-
- More
- -----------------------
- THE "Library Files Searcher" PROGRAM **MUST** BE located in the
- same folder with MANSION, (setting beside each other:).
-
- -----------------------
- Running "Library Files Searcher"
-
- You MUST this program as an external from within Mansion.
- You must set up a menu command to activate the program.
- You must add the program info to the Data Header file for Mansion.

-
- •• Special Considerations ••
- The Mansion Menu command for this (and others) program can be in any menu
- EXCEPT the your library SUB-MENU, where the actual upload/download commands
- are located. You may not run any external from these menus as when you return
- back to Mansion, Mansion will have forgotten where it's at.
-
-
-
- •• Changes from 1.0 ••
- Special Considerations added to the Docs.
- Window size is defined and won't grow to the size of your screen.
- (thus slowing down the display on BIG screens.)
